Food Storage used - Champagne vinegar, Extra virgin olive oil, canned chickpeas.
Fourth of July Salad. I like something at BBQs other than just meat and chips. Though I really like the meat and chips. Any occasion when it is okay to eat a hamburger and a hot dog in one meal is okay by me.
Baby spinach, sliced strawberries, blueberries, chow mein noddles, sliced almonds, craisins, rotisserie chicken tossed with poppy seed dressing.
Food Storage used - Chow mein noodles, almonds, craisins, dressing.
Alaskan king crab with cheddar mashed potatoes. (Crab leftover from Father's day)

Food Storage used: lemon juice (I use fresh, but you can store it), olive oil, Dijon Mustard, Couscous. I love couscous. Stays forever in your pantry, cooks in 5 minutes. I use it with my weekly rotisserie chicken and whatever veggies are in the fridge. In the summer we grill every weekend and I always have Shane grill extra veggies to use during the week. Great to put over noddles or rice.
Lemon Vinaigrette
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)
1/2 cup good olive oil
1 TBS Dijon Mustard
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
In a small bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, mustard, olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Food storage used - Honey.
So there you go. My attempt for the week. I am still trying to get pumped about food storage, but I just think it is going to be baby steps for me. Now if only someone would come show me what to do with all this wheat I just bought....

Nat, are those photos of YOUR meals? Seriously? And here I thought you were feeling all the anxieties of motherhood with two children. If these artistic concoctions are your stress outlet with two children then I think you should consider have eight more and then just selling your creations to art museums.
As for what to do with all your wheat, just make sure to have a little hand coffee grinder in your pantry for natural disasters. You'd have to grind all day to have enough for one loaf of bread, but it would work. I know. I learned it from Laura Ingalls Wilder (The Long Winter.) :) Doesn't that make you want to start emulating the pioneer lifestyle rather than Martha Stewart?
Yes, those are photos of my meals. And no, I don't want to emulate the pioneer lifestyle. You can keep your spoonful of honey :)
Nicely done - I love your piped potatoes!
You did ALL of this...with a newborn??!??
Impressive.
I am a consultant for Heritage Makers. I'll see what I can do (:
♥ All of those look great!
Oh wow. You're making me hungry! Natalie, I wish I were that creative with food. Seriously. It must be a gift. =)
Wow that post made me so hungry! I can't wait to set up that grilled chicken salad when I get home!!
Yum. I'm so making homemade pitas for dinner tomorrow. Not so much the hummus, because I don't have a food processor. Your photos are great! Do you have a fancy schmancy camera or what?
Nope, just a 4 year old point and shoot 5 meg. I REALLY need a new camera.
Well, it sounds like you are better than you think. What do you need to look at cooking blogs for ?;)
